Kitchen Renovation - what a difference light makes

You can see in the before picture how this room used to be cluttered with posts. With the structural renovation, we were able to provide a finished kitchen that is light and airy.

This posting is to catch our followers up to our progress and status. We completed the construction of the Artists Studio last spring. Here are a view of the South elevation and the interior.

Inside, the studio has a clean modern look with simple finishes, tons of natural light, and a view over the Presumpscot.

The owner is now enjoying the studio and producing her art in her new location.

Nearing Completion

As the weather turns more favorable each week we've kept the momentum rolling and topped the studio with a roof, installed the bulk of the exterior trim and siding, and finished drywall. A few more details to be determined and we'll be rounding the corner to completion.

The studio in Falmouth is nearing completion. Drywall is installed (not pictured), the exterior deck has been connected with the deck on the existing house. Now we're waiting for a break in the weather so that we can put the metal roof and siding on the structure.

Many projects have a feature that stands out, and this one has many. First is the beautiful clerestory roof system that allows tons of natural light to flow into the studio while showing off key structural members.

Falmouth Studio Project Update

The Matrix Construction team has been working hard to beat the weather and get under roof on our Falmouth Studio project. We are excited to be building this unique studio designed by the highly accomplished architect, Carol Wilson. Our team: Brian. Ron and Aleric have made great strides since Thanksgiving.

This amazing art studio is elevated over the natural surroundings near the Presumpscot River in Falmouth. Steel fabrication happened around the Thanksgiving Holiday and went together quite smoothly. Our team has been able to lay down the deck and is currenly working on the roof system

Newton Mass Screened Porch Progress Report

The Newton project is coming along nicely. With only a coat of paint to finish off the siding and some landscaping to encorporate the new porch layout with the backyard, we can all this project complete. Check out the mahogany stairs and the interplay of steel and wood. Quite an addition.

Our clients, Chris and Andrea had this to say about working with Greg. "Greg is the kind of contractor that is so hard to find. He is patient and a great craftsman, attentive to the most minute details without loosing track of the big picture. Someday when we build our dream home, we hope to have him build it for us."

Screened-in Porch- Newton, MA

Early Summer 2008
Greg went on the road over the summer to work on a screened in porch down on a sweet little bungalow in Newton, MA. Greg worked closely with our clients, Chris and Andrea, to create a refined contemporary design that complimented the existing architecture. Both Chris and Andy are accomplished designers with lots of ideas for their new space. They had recently renovated the house and were ready to work on additional spaces that would bring the outside in.
